Leeds Liberal Democrats are campaigning to stop the new Labour government axing the Pensioners Winter Fuel Payment that will leave 9 out of 10 elderly people £300 worse off this winter.

This is unacceptable at a time when historically high energy bills are due to rise an average £149 from October.

People in Leeds are spread across 10 constituencies, and in those constituencies a massive 140.000 pensioners are now set to lose out on help with their fuel bills.

All but one of those constituencies now have Labour MPs. One of those MPs, Rachel Reeves, made the decision to axe the winter fuel payments, despite this decision not being mentioned once in the Labour Party manifesto offered to the voters.

Sign our petition to send our MPs a message that we won’t sacrifice keeping our pensioners warm this winter to help Labour balance the books.
