Public meeting staged for bus consultation findings

June 9, 2017 8:14 PM

Councillors Sandy Lay (Lib Dem, Otley and Yeadon) and Paul Wadsworth (Cons, Guiseley) have welcomed First West Yorkshire's announcement that they will be holding a public meeting on the results of their service consultation.

The meeting will take place in Yeadon Town Hall at 7pm on Monday June 19th. First Bus will feed back the results of the consultation that ran earlier this year on routes serving the A660 corridor, including the Guiseley and Yeadon 33a and 97 services.

This will be followed by a question and answer session, where residents will have the chance to talk to representatives from First and quiz them on the improvements that will be made as a result of the consultation.

Cllr Sandy Lay (Lib Dem, Otley and Yeadon): "Cllr Wadsworth and I have organised this meeting to bring residents together with First Bus so they can discuss the way the services will be changing.

"Hopefully this approach will effect real improvement in the way these essential services are run for residents."

Cllr Paul Wadsworth (Cons, Guiseley and Rawdon): "We have met with First Bus several times this year alone, lobbying for improvements to the services they run, especially around timekeeping and reliability.

"This meeting is a chance for residents to question Brandon Jones, the head of external relations for First Bus in Leeds, about the issues they face every day and work with the company to help solve these problems."
