Parking issues to be eased on High Ridge Park

April 19, 2017 8:54 PM

Following residents' requests for a shrub bed to be removed on High Ridge Park, Councillor Stewart Golton (Lib Dem, Rothwell) has welcomed news that the proposal has been approved.

Local residents had approached Cllr Golton, concerned about the lack of parking in the area, especially given the proximity of a local nursery and the allotments nearby.

After speaking with the highways department they agreed to address the issue by taking out the shrub bed and replacing it with parking spaces.

Cllr Stewart Golton (Lib Dem, Rothwell) commented: "I'm pleased that we have found an answer to the problems that the residents were having. Many of the houses don't have the space at the front for a car, leading to a real lack of space on the road made worse by visitors to the local nursery and allotments parking up.

The shrub bed hasn't been looking its best and its removal will ensure that there will be space for extra cars on the road. As soon as I find out when work will start, I'll let residents know."
