SHOCK FROM RESIDENTS AS LABOUR COUNCIL SET TO CLOSE MANORFIELD CARE HOME

Residents and families are upset by the decision to close the council-run Manorfield Care Home.

Having claimed in election leaflets a little over a year ago that the Labour council had 'saved' Manorfield, Labour recently announced that the home would be closed.

Liberal Democrat councillors are disappointed at the news and extend their sympathies to the residents that will have to move to other private care homes.

Labour blamed Tory cuts for the home closure U-turn, but this is little comfort to those who took Labour at its word at the last council elections.

Horsforth Town Councillor, Martin Hughes said: "This is not Labour's finest hour. There is more at stake here than just saving money and it is the residents and families of Manorfield residents who will suffer!
