Horsforth Hall Cricket Club get security boost

Horsforth Councillor Brian Cleasby is helping to improve security at Horsforth Hall Cricket Club.

Over £900 is coming from his members improvement in the community environment (MICE) fund to stop the club falling victim to vandals.

The cricket club has had problems with youths climbing on their roof and it was arranged for the Community Action and Support Against Crime (CASAC) team and the police to carry out a security assessment. They came up with a number of ways of improving their security.

The whole building will now be painted with special paint which does not set making climbing on to the roof extremely difficult. New window grilles and a security light will also be installed to help protect the club from vandalism.

Cllr Brian Cleasby (Lib Dem, Horsforth) said:

"We are really pleased to help Horsforth Hall cricket club. We put money towards repairing the roof last year and these measures should help prevent any more damage being done. This should save them from having to fork out for repairs in the future which would have run into thousands."
