Lark in the Park, the free annual community event is back and will take place this Saturday (1st August) from 12:00 to 3:00pm at East End Park.

The free event is for all the family and will include children's races and a picnic, inflatables such as a five a side table football pitch, bungee runs and gladiator jousting. There will also be a climbing wall, drum and dance workshops, circus skills, a free raffle for 11-19 year olds and much more.

The Richmond Hill Network comprising of local groups, residents and agencies working in the area has organised the event. Members of this network including the East Area Management Team and Leeds Tenants Federation will be on hand to provide help and advice. They will also be giving information about new and planned facilities and volunteering opportunities in the local area.

Also in attendance will be 'On the Sofa' part of Leeds Love it Share it where local people have the opportunity to tell a story about themselves and make a contribution to community development in Leeds.

Leader of Leeds City Council Cllr Richard Brett (Lib Dem, Burmantofts and Richmond Hill) said:

"I hope everyone in the local area will come down to East End park this Saturday. This years event is going to be bigger and better than ever before. There are some great activities planned and people of all ages will be entertained.

"It's a great chance for everyone in our community to come together and enjoy a great day out."
