12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 13th Jul 2009

Leader of Leeds City Council Richard Brett and his fellow ward collegues this week paid a visit to the new mobile library and IT truck now stationed on Compton Road in Harehills.

Cllr Brett registered there and then and was able to log on to the computer system and check the latest happenings in the political world.

Cllr Richard Brett (Lib Dem, Burmantofts and Richmond Hill) said:

"You don't have to be a member of the library to use the service. All you have to do is give your name and you can register as a temporary user and surf the internet for free.

"It is important that local people know that the mobile library and IT truck are here. It is such a great facility and the staff here are doing a great job providing a service to their local community."

The mobile library is open from 9am-6pm Monday - Friday and from 9am-4pm on Saturdays. The IT truck is open from 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturday.
