Schools survey raises smile

12.00.00am GMT Fri 5th Dec 2008

Councillor Stewart Golton (Lib Dem, Rothwell) Executive Member for Children's Services has welcomed the findings of the Audit Commission's Annual Schools Survey.

The survey is designed to capture the thoughts and feelings of teachers on services provided locally and their effectiveness in securing improvements. Staff felt particularly well supported when identifying and dealing with children at risk.

Speaking on the findings, Councillor Golton said:

"I believe it is really encouraging news that this survey has highlighted that teachers feel the advice and support they receive regarding child protection is of the highest standard. It is good to know the messages are getting to the grass-roots level, especially given the current climate around children's services."
