Today sees the official opening of a new Toy Library in SPACE@, next to Little London Primary School. Local youngsters and their parents can borrow toys for up to a week once the family has signed-up for a Toy Library card.

Little London Councillor Penny Ewens went along to the launch.

Councillor Penny Ewens (Lib Dem, Hyde Park & Woodhouse) said "Credit must go to Jill Wood, Headteacher of Little London Primary School for such an excellent idea. Lesley Waring, who is running the scheme on a day-to-day basis, has worked hard with her team to get the Toy Library off the ground.

Councillor Ewens added, "The library has an Argos-style catalogue system that allows children and their parents to browse all the toys on offer. With Lesley and her team on hand to give expert advice as to what toy is suitable for what age group, it really is a fantastic service."
