Headingley Councillor welcomes extension of library opening hours12.55.37pm GMT Fri 26th Jan 2007 Lib Dem Councillor James Monaghan has welcomed news that Headingley Library is to extend its opening hours. Councillor James Monaghan (Lib Dem, Headingley) said, "This is fantastic news for Headingley residents who will now have even better access to their local library. "Headingley library is one of the busiest libraries in the city and it is particularly popular on a morning with parents with young children, students and the elderly. It is not unusual to see people queuing outside the library in all weathers waiting for it to open. Hopefully the earlier opening times will mean that these queues are no longer necessary."
