12.00.00am GMT Tue 21st Mar 2006

News that low cost airline Jet2 is to create 150 jobs at Leeds Bradford Airport has been welcomed by Otley & Yeadon Councillor Ryk Downes. The jobs will be created as Bournemouth based Jet2 establishes a new head office at the airport.

Councillor Ryk Downes (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said "I'm delighted by this latest announcement from Jet2. The potential for employment opportunities for the surrounding communities, including my own ward (Otley & Yeadon) will be one of the main benefits of the move. By establishing a head office here in Leeds Jet2 are also illustrating their continued commitment to Leeds Bradford Airport and the region in general."
