Headingley Councillor Concerned About Proposed Granby Street Development8.40.33pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 26th Oct 2004 Headingley Councillor Martin Hamilton, shares the concerns of nearby residents about proposals to demolish a garage on Granby Street and replace it with an eleven flat development. Councillor Martin Hamilton (Lib Dem Headingley) says "In the application only four parking spaces are allocated for eleven flats, which seems to me to be inadequate. I also feel that the use is over-intensive for what is a small patch of land, and the design is rather unimaginative. I have passed my views on to planning officers dealing with this application" "Headingley increasingly suffers from a mono-culture of service industries including take-aways, pubs and restaurants. It is therefore a pity that a long-established garage will close as a result of these plans."
