Cllr Mark Harris calls for more money to be spent on road safety in Moortown.
Leeds City Council is due to spend £1,848,000 on road safety and speed reduction between 2011 and 2012. Figures over £100,000 are due to be spent in some areas such as Bramley & Stanningley, Beeston & Holbeck and Guiseley & Rawdon.
However, there are a number of areas where considerably less is being spent, in Moortown only £8,300 has been spent. Councillor Mark Harris believes that Moortown is entitled to a bigger share of this f unding.
"I have had residents expressing their concern for road safety in the area, especially around the junction of Harrogate Road and Shadwell Lane."
"I would like to see more investment in the area, to make the roads safer for all who use them, pedestrians and drivers alike."
