Otley Councillor welcomes scheme for Neighbourhood Planning.

Cllr Colin Campbell has welcomed the inclusion of Otley in the pilot scheme bids to access funding for Neighbourhood Planning.
Otley is one of four areas that will each receive up to £20,000 to develop a new approach to planning in their communities. The pilot will see the council working with community groups to establish more local involvement and community leadership on planning issues. This will help the council prepare for the government reforms to the planning system scheduled to be introduced next year.
"Allowing Communities to shape how their town will develop is an important part of the Government's localism strategy."
"I welcome the bid because the funding received will allow the City Council, Town Council and more importantly all the people of Otley to participate in shaping the future of the town. I appreciate that in Otley work has already started on shaping a new Town Plan."
"If the bid is successful it will give us the boost to move things forward to protect improve and enhance Otley."
