Dr Mick Taylor, the Lib Dem Candidate for Leeds Central
Dr Mick Taylor, the Lib Dem Candidate for Leeds Central is married to Ruth Coleman, the Lib Dem Candidate for Leeds West and they have 6 children and 2 grandchildren between them. Mick lives in the Tinshill area of Leeds and works as a lecturer in business, economics and politics at Leeds Trinity University College in Horsforth, a post he has held for 10 years.
Mick is a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and attends the meeting at Carlton Hill, where he was married to Ruth in October 2007.
Mick was a councillor for 22 years on Calderdale MBC based in Halifax and served as Leader of the council for 2 years and as a cabinet member for 4 years, first with responsibility for Health and Social Care and then for Regeneration and Development. He has fought 4 general elections. (Rossendale and Darwen 1983, Pontefract and Castleford 1987, Calder Valley 2001 and Halifax 2005, raising the Liberal Democrat vote in each case)
Mick is also the candidate for the Hyde Park and Woodhouse seat on Leeds City Council.
