A small group of residents at Kendal Carr sheltered accommodation in Little Woodhouse will not be lonely this Christmas.
One resident at Kendal Carr has offered to cook Christmas lunch for those who are staying at the centre on Christmas Day. When Cllr Ewens (Lib Dem, Hyde Park and Woodhouse) heard the news she decided to help out by paying for the ingredients.
Cllr Ewens said:
"I like to spread money from my community fund about a bit so more people can benefit. When I heard one of the residents had decided to cook a Christmas meal I thought it was extremely thoughtful and generous of them.
"I decided to help out by paying for the ingredients so for just £70 and the kindness of an individual no one will be left alone on Christmas Day and everyone will get a proper dinner."
