The 11 week bin strike in Leeds is at an end following yesterday's decision by trade unions to accept the council's latest offer.
Cllr Ryk Downes (Lib Dem, Otley and Yeadon) said:
"I am pleased that a deal has been reached. The bonus scheme we have offered the bin men is a fair compromise. The council has achieved its main aim, which is a much more efficient and productive service for the people of Leeds.
"Ultimately this will mean that Otley and Yeadon residents will see an improved recycling service, but at good value to the taxpayer."
