Pakistan Australia Test Welcomed by Councillors

Leeds City Council has congratulated Yorkshire County Cricket Club on winning the right to stage the Pakistan-Australia Test match at Headingley next summer.

Cllr Martin Hamilton (Lib Dem, Headingley) who proposed the motion said :

"I'm sure the match will provide a feast of cricket. Two of the most exciting teams in the field will be going head to head at our historic ground. This is an excellent opportunity for Yorkshire Cricket to develop its contacts within the local community, many of whom have strong links with the visiting teams."
