Meanwood Park is to get a £176,000 make-over after residents and schools gave their support to a new children's play area and 'teen zone'.
Plans will inject new life into what is a well-used community park. New play equipment, fencing and new surfacing will make the area more exciting, accessible and safer for children.
Councillors Richard Harker and Brenda Lancaster led a public consultation in June and July and were pleased with the outcome.
Cllr Richard Harker (Lib Dem, Moortown and Executive Board Member for Learning) said:
"There was a tremendous response from local young people. The planned design includes something for everyone. As well as a refurbished play area for children there will be an area for teenagers to meet up and socialise".
