Quarry Mount Children's Centre is holding a special Community Day to celebrate the hard work of its staff and the excellent services they provide.
The Community Day is to be held on Tuesday 15th September during National Sure Start Children's Centre Week. Activities throughout the day will include a well-being clinic for children, arts and crafts, physical games, a teddy bears picnic, and others.
Quarry Mount would like families who do not currently use the centre to come along to see what is on offer. The children's centre has been open for five years and during this time they have helped out hundreds of families in the community.
The centre has now become a model service, successfully integrating childcare, education, family support and health services. Families are supported through counselling sessions, health surgeries and employment and financial advice, in addition to the first class childcare provided to local families.
Cllr Penny Ewens (Lib Dem, Hyde Park and Woodhouse)
"I am pledging my support for this event. I hope members of the community will also support their local children's centre. Quarry Mount School has become a hub in our community, the staff provide a first-class service to families in Woodhouse.
"During these harsh economic times, families need a place nearby where they can get support and advice. Please come to see what services are on offer."
