New flowerbeds, footpaths and signposts are just some of the improvements soon to be seen at Harehills Cemetery.
Councillor Rev. Alan Taylor (Lib Dem, Gipton and Harehills) welcomes the news that one of the city's most visited cemeteries is to receive a facelift.
Works will include new footpaths, signposts and improved access for cars and vehicles. Access points and steps will be updated, as well as boundary and soft landscaping works.
The works will increase the size of the cemetery site and provide additional space for burials.
Speaking on the works, Councillor Taylor said:
"I know that Harehills cemetery is very popular and receives a high number of visitors. I am pleased that the council is working on improving access to the site.
"These works will also help provide extra burial plots in the future and I know that will be appreciated by many in the community."
