The major re-design and build of Oulton Raiders club house has now been completed.
At a well attended official opening last Thursday (9th July), the Chief Executive of the Rugby League congratulated the club members and local councillors for the great effort that was required to bring this new development to completion.
The £625,000 re-vamp includes six new changing rooms, toilets, two officials' rooms, a physio room, a car park and a new kitchen area.
This will extend rugby services to allow three pitches to operate simultaneously, which will allow six teams to play at the same time.
The Oulton club is home to Football, Rugby, Cricket and Sub Aquatics. Altogether over four hundred children, teenagers and adults are regular attendees making this one of the most supported clubs in the Rothwell area.
Councillor Don Wilson (Lib Dem, Rothwell) said:
"Both my ward councillors and I have worked very hard along with the club members, to secure funding for their project. I am delighted that the people of Rothwell, Oulton and Woodlesford now have much improved sports facilities which I hope will increase participation and use of the sports club."
