The Chippindale Pool at Prince Henry's Grammar School in Otley has a new summer timetable and is one of the pools operating the Swim4free initiative.
Councillor Ryk Downes (Lib Dem, Otley and Yeadon) is encouraging everyone to use the pool and take advantage of the councils Swim4free scheme where children under 16 and adults over 60 can use the pool for free.
Councillor Downes said:
"I think swimming is a great way for people to stay fit and healthy, especially for children and young people over the school holidays. Some people are not aware of what great facilities we have on our doorstep. I would encourage everyone to come down to the pool and to see what's on offer."
The Chippindale pool is also offering 'crash course' swimming lessons where children swim every day for a week. The lessons run Monday to Friday on the week commencing August 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.
Children under 8 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 16 to swim. To take advantage of Swim4free those without a Leedscard or Breezecard need to bring proof of age. Most sessions are Swim4free sessions unless stated on the swimming pools timetable.
