An additional twenty-eight much needed social houses are set to be brought back into use in Gipton and Harehills.
Leeds City Council has provided GIPSIL and Leeds Housing Concern 25 year leases on the properties to help ease the backlog in social housing requests. The council is foregoing rent in return for the properties being refurbished and maintained.
Speaking of the announcement, Cllr Alan Taylor (Lib Dem, Gipton and Harehills) said:
"We have to do all we can to assist people into social housing. These extra houses are much needed. Any extra provision in Gipton and Harehills will always be appreciated."
