Clr David Hollingsworth showing the way
It's good news for eco-conscious residents of Richmond Hill. Having secured an agreement with Adair Paxton, Leeds City Council has provided green bins for the Bouverie Court development.
Each of the block's three bin stores have been equipped with one 1100 litre bin for mixed dry recyclables and two 240 litre bins for mixed glass bottles and jars. Residents have been sent leaflets explaining exactly what can be put in each of the bins.
Local ward councillor David Hollingsworth was one of the first to take advantage of the new recycling facilities.
Clr Hollingsworth doing his bit for the environment
Cllr Hollingsworth (Lib Dem, Burmantofts and Richmond Hill) commented:
"Leeds City Council is recycling more than ever - 26% of waste was recycled in 2007 - but we still have a way to go to meet our target of 50% by 2020.
We hope that these new facilities will inspire residents to think about how they dispose of their waste and make a real positive impact on the community and environment".
