Cllr Penny Ewens at the Royal Park School building
A major consultation exercise has been launched in north west Leeds to allow local people to have their say on the future of the proposed community space in the former Royal Park Primary School.
Last month the council approved a refurbishment scheme for the former school site including a space for community use.
In order to guarantee that the community space is designed and fitted out with the needs and aspirations of the local community in mind, the council is seeking the views of nearly ten thousand residents.
Hyde Park & Woodhouse councillor Penny Ewens has welcomed the consultation.
Councillor Penny Ewens (Lib Dem, Hyde Park & Woodhouse) said "We have said all along that it is vital that local people have their say on the future of the community space in the former Royal Park Primary School. This consultation is the perfect opportunity for residents to do just that. I would urge as many people as possible to come along to the events being held over the next few weeks and return their surveys. It is important that everyone's voice is heard."
