Cllr Martin Hamilton
Following yesterday's meeting of the council's executive board, Headingley Cllr Martin Hamilton has welcomed the decision to defer a decision on the future use of the Headingley Primary School site, to give more time to Headingley Development Trust to further develop their HEART Project.
Cllr Martin Hamilton (Lib Dem, Headingley) said :- "Local people have lobbied strongly for the Headingley Primary School building to be used for the local community rather than bringing a capital receipt for the council as a whole. As is always the case the executive board has listened closely to local people and agreed that the decision on the future of the building should be put back for a further period to allow more time for the proposal to be developed.
"I very much welcome this and will continue to work for a successful outcome to the discussions. "
