Councillors Sue Bentley and Judith Chapman on the bouncy castle
Weetwood councillors Sue Bentley and Judith Chapman have donated £2,500 of their MICE (Money for Improvement in the Community and Environment) money to hold a Mini Breeze festival in their ward.
The festival will be held on Friday August 17th; between 1pm - 5pm on the Tinshill Recreation ground, Otley Old Road.
Councillor Sue Bentley (Lib Dem, Weetwood) said, "We have provided money for the festival because residents and young people tell us that there is little for youngsters to do in this area. We decided to give the young people a treat and arrange for a Mini Breeze in our neighbourhood for the first time."
Councillor Judith Chapman (Lib Dem, Weetwood) added, "There will be two or more bouncy castles, one for younger children and one for young people. There will also be a techno truck, a beauty workshop and various other activities. The site will be staffed by qualified youth workers. Everyone is welcome and it's all for free."
