Lib Dem Councillor Willing to Listen

Councillor Javaid Akhtar is available to listen and help sort out any problems faced by members of the Asian community at his weekly surgeries.

Cllr Akhtar (Lib Dem, Gipton & Harehills) said "Of course, my surgeries are open to absolutely everyone, but there is evidence to show that some members of the Asian community are less confident about approaching their local Councillor for assistance. That's a shame because ward Councillors can often provide help and advice that can get the problem sorted".

"I'm willing to listen to anybody who wants to discuss an issue with me, and I'll do my best to sort out problems or offer advice on who to speak to for more help. As well as my weekly surgeries you can e-mail me at Javaid.akhtar@leeds.gov.uk or telephone me on 0113 2474580."
