Yeadon Tarn is set to receive a five figure cash injection to help refurbish its public toilets. The £60,000 project has been made possible through the council's Parks and Countryside Capital Receipt fund. With a new fish breeding area recently completed, the tarn will be subject to a major facelift over the coming months. Other projects scheduled for this year include re-establishing the tarn's banks and refurbishments to surrounding paths, seats and picnic tables. Local councillor Colin Campbell has welcomed the investment and hopes that the work will be completed in time for the busy summer season.
Councillor Colin Campbell (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said "Many residents have asked about getting the toilets improved and through this fund we now have money to do so."
Councillor Campbell added "We're hoping that the work will be completed soon so that people can enjoy the tarn this summer with the improved facilities."
Councillor Campbell commented "These are exciting times for the tarn with more improvements on the way next year."
