A state of the art creative learning space is being developed in the Burley/Woodhouse area of west Leeds. Artlink West Yorkshire has recently showcased plans for the project in its building on Belle Vue Road. Proposals include a new digital arts media suite and studio space for artists. The building will have full disabled access and is an initiative to encourage members of the community to engage with the arts in a creative learning environment. Councillor Penny Ewens has followed the work of the organisation closely and has thrown her support behind the proposals.
Cllr Penny Ewens (Lib Dem, Hyde Park & Woodhouse) said "Artlink provide a stepping stone for people to re-enter employment, education and community activity. I am fully behind the idea that every citizen should have an opportunity to play a full part in the life of their community."
