Leeds Councillor set to deliver education speech at conference

Leading Lib Dem Councillor Richard Harker is set to deliver a speech on Government's controversial Education Bill in Harrogate this Saturday. Speaking at the party's annual Spring conference, Councillor Harker will be joined by Richard Garner, Education editor at The Independent, Ed Davey MP and Baroness Ros Scott.

Councillor Richard Harker, (Lib Dem, Moortown) said "As a guest speaker I will be outlining the role of Leeds Education Authority and successes we have had here in the city. The main focus however will be the Government's new Education Bill and what could be done to improve it to ensure that Leeds City Council can champion pupils and parents, including those most disadvantaged.���

1. The speech is to take place at the LGA Fringe event The Education Bill: Pass or Fail? between 6:30 - 7:30pm in the Bramham Suite in the Holiday Inn, Harrogate.
