Local Councillor welcomes eviction of neighbour from hell

Gipton & Harehills Councillor Javaid Akhtar has welcomed news that James Hirst has been evicted from 105 Amberton Crescent after threatening to blow up his house.

Councillor Javaid Akhtar (Lib Dem, Gipton & Harehills) said "I am delighted that the Council has acted so swiftly. This man's behaviour has been blight on our community for far too long and after repeated warnings he has now paid dearly. A large debt of thanks has to go to those people who were prepared to stand up in court and act as witnesses in the case against Mr Hirst."
