Leeds City Council has announced plans for a five figure revamp of Fearnville playing fields, Gipton. The makeover comes as part of a huge £3.7m spending programme to revitalise parks and green spaces in Leeds. The £60k worth of funding will be spent on a regional bmx track and youth shelter. Local Councillor Alan Taylor has welcomed the investment.
Councillor Alan Taylor (Lib Dem, Gipton and Harehills ) said "This refurbishment is a timely boost for Gipton. The obvious correlation between boredom and anti -social behaviour is not lost on anyone. Both the bmx track and youth shelter will provide a positive outlet for the youngsters of east Leeds."
