Local Lib Dem Cllr Penny Ewens discovered a creative hub on a recent visit (14th July 2005) to the City of Leeds School (Hyde Park and Woodhouse ward). Cllr Ewens was one of many guests that paid a visit to Leeds 6 in order to attend the School's City Vibe 2005 evening last week. The event was organised with the aim of showcasing the pupil's artistic talent across many genres. With performances ranging from Rap Poetry, contemporary singing, Asian Dance and a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the evening was seen as a resounding success.
Cllr Ewens (Lib Dem Hyde Park & Woodhouse) said, "Congratulations to the pupils and staff of City of Leeds. I had an enjoyable evening watching some very talented pupils from all ages perform an exciting and vibrant range of performances. The staff here at City of Leeds have proven they have an excellent grasp of what youth culture in 2005 is all about."
