Local Lib Dem Councillor Kabeer Hussain has hailed the arrival of a new Community Advice Worker at the Woodsley Road Community Centre (Hyde Park & Woodhouse ward). Following a request from Cllr Hussain, Leeds City Council's Social Services Department have appointed Mr Iftikhar Hussain to provide a range of services for the centre's regulars including advice on how to deal with housing and benefits queries. Mr Hussain completed his first shift earlier this week.
Councillor Hussain (Lib Dem, Hyde Park & Woodhouse) said, "I'd like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to my name sake, Mr Hussain. Iftikhar's addition to the team at Woodsley Road will be beneficial to the whole community."
• Mr Iftikhar Hussain is trained to provide information on a whole range of issues including benefits, housing, energy efficiency, Social Services, etc and if he is unable to help he can sign post on to others who can.
• Mr Hussain is also able to assist with form completion and make contact with agencies and Council Departments on behalf of clients. His new surgery is held at Woodsley Road Community Centre on a Monday between 9.00am and 12noon (drop in).
