A date has been set for meeting between Rothwell Traders and
representatives from Morrisons Supermarkets to discuss the issues facing
Rothwell Town Centre. The Meeting to be held on 3rd of March 2005 at
Rothwell Library, Marsh Street, Rothwell. Local Councillors have invited
over 50 of the town centre's traders as well as representatives from
Morrisons and Leeds City Council's Development Department. The Meeting is
scheduled to get underway at 5:30pm.
Cllr Don Wilson (Lib Dem, Rothwell) said : "The aim of this meeting is to
consider the key issues in relation to Rothwell town centre and how best
these might be addressed. If there is sufficient interest and support from
the town centre retailers it is hoped that we can set up a regular forum
meeting at which there will be opportunities to raise issue of concern and
develop planned actions to tackle these. This is a great opportunity for
those affected by the redevelopment to get their views heard."
