Liberal Democrat Cllr Alan Taylor (Gipton and Harehills) welcomes plans for a multi-agency clampdown on crime and anti social behaviour within Chapeltown Police Division. 'Operation Arrow' will be led by the Chapeltown Police Division, working alongside agencies such as the Council's Anti Social Behaviour Unit and Street Cleansing Department and Leeds East Homes.
Councillor Taylor (Lib Dem) said "I've heard very good reports about a similar initiative run by the Killingbeck Police Division - Operation Banrock. I'm looking forward to Operation Arrow and hoping it will be equally successful."
"Increased uniformed patrols from the Police will target priority crimes such as drugs and burglary and Local Authority officers will be on hand to deal with things like vehicle and environmental crime. By focusing resources on one area for a period of time in this way the agencies involved can significantly reduce crime. Operation Arrow will also provide reassurance for the community and address environmental issues which sometimes contribute to increased crime and anti social behaviour."
