Lib Dem Councillor Welcomes New Crime Prevention Scheme

Local Lib Dem Councillors have welcomed proposals for alleygating to be introduced in the Burmantofts and Richmond Hill area of the City. Back Bellbrooke Avenue, Back Bellbrooke Place and Back Bellbrooke Grove have been chosen as the first roads in the ward to be affected by the proposed scheme.
Councillor Hollingsworth of the Burmantofts and Richmond Hill ward said, "This is great news for the Bellbrookes. 'Alleygating' is a proven means of reducing crime and other antisocial behaviour such as vandalism, graffiti and fly tipping. These issues are all major concerns for local people. As local ward Councillors we are keen to hear residents views on the proposals. If all goes well work will start on the scheme early next spring."
