Play Area Boost at Oxton Way, Ebor Gardens

Nearly a quarter of a million pounds is to be spent on playground facilities at Oxton Way Playing Fields…
Councillor Ralph Pryke (Lib Dem, Burmantofts) is delighted that a scheme to provide a playground and 'youth teen' zone at Oxton Way Playing Fields has been given the go-ahead.
Cllr Pryke said "This is a much needed improvement in an area that is desperately short of decent play areas. The new playground will greatly enhance the quality of life of children and young people in the area, and at the same time improve a patch of land that has been used as a dumping ground for burnt out stolen cars".
"As well as the play area and youth teen zone, work is being done to improve the general landscaping of the area including seating and bins. The best news of all though, is that local people won't have to pay a penny for the improvements - it's being paid for through the Government's SRB programme".
