Christmas Lights for Headingley get go-ahead for a second year after commercial sponsorship is secured.
Cllr David Morton (Lib Dem, Headingley) said "After the success of last year, the first time Headingley has ever had Christmas Lights, we wanted to make this improvement permanent. We'd always known that we'd need commercial sponsorship to pay for the annual running costs."
"Councillors have used MICE and CIT funds to employ a student living in the area to help raise the cash. I'm very grateful to the 19 businesses who have responded."

10000 booklets giving details of the sponsors of the lights and what Headingley means to them will be published and distributed. It is hoped this will boost trade in the town centre.
This year two brand new lights have been designed by community members.
Each light will have a sign with the logo of the sponsor.
