Lib Dem Cllr welcomes new play area at Ebor Gardens

Lib Dem Cllr Ralph Pryke (Burmantofts) is pleased that the long-awaited work to provide a play area at Oxton Way will start soon.
Cllr Pryke said "This is wonderful news. Local people have been campaigning for some time now to get this kind of area for children on the Ebor Gardens Estate. For far too long now young children and teenagers have had to travel across busy roads to neighbouring estates if they wanted to use this kind of facility."
"Until recently this site has been an eyesore, and has been used as a dumping ground for burnt out cars. The play area, along with the new barrier fencing, should ensure that the Park will enhance the surrounding area, rather than detracting from it."
"Rest assured that I'll continue to press for further improvements to community facilities in order to help local residents, young and old, in East Leeds."
