Hot Air and empty Promises as Wykebeck Primary is 'betrayed'

With the news today (YEP Tues 3/6/03) that Wykebeck Primary School in Gipton is to lose a teacher due to funding cuts, Burmantofts Lib Dem Councillor Ralph Pryke feels that promises to local parents have not been kept.
Councillor Pryke said "I am appalled that the kids, staff and governors who have worked incredibly hard to improve things have been let down. Standards are up all round at this excellent school."
He added: "The Government sets the formula for school funding, but the effects of increased salary, pension, and National Insurance costs haven't been fully taken into account. They should hang their heads in shame."
